Synthetic Civilization
Dev Adnani
AI systems today are built to serve humans — but we have no way to study how AI entities behave with each other at scale. How do autonomous agents form societies? Do conflict, religion, and politics emerge naturally from individual behavior — or do they require explicit programming?
Idea
Synthetic Civilization answers this by simulating 20 AI agents with distinct personalities, memories, and ideologies — placed in a world with no rules, no scripts, and no predetermined outcomes. They pursue goals, form relationships, betray each other, and create belief systems entirely on their own. The result isn't a game. It's a mirror — showing us how civilization itself might be an emergent property of intelligence, not a human invention.
